Paradise Valley resident serves as ambassador

The American Heart Association has launched a new collaboration with Vibrant Doc and its founder and CEO, Dr. Stacie J. Stephenson, a resident of Paradise Valley.

With the shared goals of empowering audiences to make healthy lifestyle choices, AHA and Vibrant Doc joined forces to expand heart health education across the Phoenix community, according to a press release.

As an ambassador for the American Heart Association’s Healthy for Good movement, program sponsor Vibrant Doc will lead the Phoenix-area’s 2021 campaign, sharing educational content and resources to help motivate audiences to make healthy eating choices, engage in more physical activity, maintain a healthy lifestyle, and strengthen mental wellbeing.

“I am so proud to be working with the American Heart Association to help Phoenix get Healthy for Good,” said Dr. Stephenson. “Together with the AHA, Vibrant Doc will help the Phoenix community tap into their own potential to boost heart health and prevent cardiovascular disease and stroke. From heart healthy recipes, ideas for getting active, and exercises for the mind, we’re creating tons of great content and resources tailored to our Phoenix community.”

Heart disease is the leading cause of death among Americans and, every 37 seconds, someone dies of cardiovascular disease in the U.S. With education and action, 80 percent of cardiac events can be prevented.

Vibrant Doc’s support will benefit the AHA’s lifesaving work and efforts to improve cardiovascular health, including funding innovative scientific research, developing health programs, and advocating for policies that positively transform heart health.

“We are thrilled to work with Dr. Stephenson and Vibrant Doc and look forward to seeing the impact the collaboration will have on the Phoenix community,” said Debra Wilson, executive director of the American Heart Association’s Greater Phoenix Division. “Our mission is to be a relentless force for a world of longer, healthier lives, and synergistic relationships such as this will help make that possible.”

Healthy for Good is a revolutionary healthy living movement that inspires change one step at a time. The approach is simple: Eat Smart. Move More. Add Color. Be Well. For more information about the initiative or the local American Heart Association, visit www.heart.org/phoenix.
